Official Election Statement

I would like to thank everyone who supported my campaign. To everyone who invested time, money, and talent to help me run for office, you all have my deepest gratitude!

Best of luck to Lesley Smith. May she fight to protect freedom, liberty, and prosperity for all Coloradans.

Let’s be praying for a bright future, a united nation, and a prosperous, free, and hopeful future for our coming generations. God bless America!

Steve's Core Values

It would be my honor to represent the people of District 49 in the Colorado state legislature.

I believe everyone deserves dignity and respect, regardless of their position in life. I am tired of the divisiveness in our culture and will work to restore equality and justice for all.

We may never agree on all the issues, but we can bridge the divide as we make the choices to respect, honor, appreciate, and value others.

Governmental powers are meant to be used for the betterment of all people, not a weapon or for self-gain.

That is what I look to accomplish — a brighter, more respectful, compassionate state and nation.

OPPOSES*

* Amendment 80 — This one needs some explanation. I rarely oppose any school choice options, but I am troubled by the sentence in this constitutional question: “Each K-12 child has the right to school choice.” This constitutional wording may in some cases grant the authority for school choice to the child instead of the parents. I consider this wording to be problematic, and therefore I am taking a neutral position for my public recommendations.

* Proposition 131 — This measure is very dangerous and disruptive. It does not give individual citizens more electoral power. It pretty much eliminates what effect political parties may have on elections and empowers the very rich who can buy their way onto the ballot. Ranked choice voiting also makes hand counting and any reasonable election audits impossible.
